Henny Penny fried Jenny. The childhood taunt had stuck with Severna Park resident Jenny Davids since she was 6.
As the years went on, that transformed into other nicknames, such as "Hen Jen" or "The Hen." Davids fully took ownership of it when it became the inspiration for her table linens business.
Created with Katherine Poole, Davids' former college roommate at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, Hen House Linens carries casual tablecloths, runners, placemats, quilted chargers, napkins, aprons, kids' aprons, potholders and oven mitts.
The collection includes nearly four dozen textiles in color palettes like aqua, fern moss, citron, butter, graphite and persimmon. There are patterns of filigree, lattice, chevrons and fleur-de-lis, among many others.
