With fundraising efforts flagging for a proposed $30 million facility, the National Sailing Hall of Fame is poised to receive $250,000 from the state.
Since its inception, the National Sailing Hall of Fame has named more than 30 inductees for its Annapolis waterfront museum. But if organizers wanted to hang those sailors’ pictures in an actual hall — well, it doesn’t exist yet.
After years of slogging away at its goal of $5.5 million to begin construction, the institute may get aid from the state. Supporters encouraged the organization to make a bond request.
