There is a right real estate agent for you and there is a wrong one. The key is knowing how to pick the right one and knowing how to dodge the bad ones. There is no magic to it. The process is straightforward.
How not to do this is to follow national rankings, such as the recent "J.D. Power Home Buyer/Seller Satisfaction Survey."
That survey, incidentally, pegs Century 21 highest in customer satisfaction. J.D. Power noted: "Buyers and sellers choose a real estate firm based on its reputation (30 percent buyers vs. 35 percent sellers), past experience with the agent/salesperson (21 percent vs. 25 percent), and/or recommendation (24 percent vs. 21 percent)."
