By SHANTEÉ WOODARDS The Annapolis in Bloom program is $7,000 short of the $20,000 needed to place flower baskets on city businesses.
The MainStreets Annapolis Partnership planned to raise the money for this program, which consists of 100 hanging baskets and 30 containers. Homestead Gardens provides the flowers and it costs $40,000 to maintain them. The city’s beautification funds will pay for $20,000 of the program.
Out of the $13,000 raised, more than 60 gifts have come as checks from individuals, said Lisa Craig, executive director of MainStreets Annapolis. Anyone who wants to donate, should visit www.mainstreetsannapolis.org.
